Pete Cure shows you how to install an irrigation system. He includes a reduced pressure vacuum breaker, which feeds a one inch main line that goes throughout the whole property distributing water to each individual drip valve. He also shows you a great way to protect your irrigation project from desert animals and avoid losing a lot of water. It’s really important to have the proper irrigation and installation plan figured out so that your plants get the right amount of water.
While Pete finishes up the irrigation, we head over to Lon’s Restaurant at the Hermosa Inn. Jeremy Pacheco (Executive Chef) whips up a delicious dish for you. He makes stuffed squash blossoms with goat cheese and blistered shishito peppers. He also creates a tempura batter and shows you how to make a quick-and-easy citrus vinaigrette. Many of the ingredients (such as fresh chives and parsley) come straight from Lon’s garden. Other ingredients come from local farmers around the Valley.
