Our Goodwill Moms Of the Game go above and beyond to make every game, cheer for every student and help out whenever necessary, of course never expecting recognition, just because they care. We wanted to show them how much we care by having them punt, pass and kick their way to victory (and prizes).
The moms start from the 50-yard line, punting the football as far as possible, then throwing the ball from the point where the punt landed and finally kicking a field goal from that point. If they make it through the uprights, they win a prize pack and a $100 gift card from Goodwill of Central Arizona and Cox7-AZ. If they do not make the field goal, we still give them cool stuff ($25 gift card and prize pack).
The Moms also have a chance to win a grand prize at the end of the season which includes a day at the spa (voting starts in November).

Congratulations again to all of our outstanding mom’s, great representatives of their respective communities.

You can view their pictures and check out their awesome Mom activities on this page. Be sure to check back every week for the newest Goodwill Moms of the Game.

Boulder Creek High School: Ronda GandolfoI

I have been married to David for 22 years.  We have owned our own business, J&J Landscaping, since 1997.  Though Dave works around the valley, he is primarily in Anthem.  We have 5 children: Josh 20, Jake 17, Noah 9, Anna 9 and Aleah 7. Being a parent is one of the most privileged opportunities ever. We love watching our son Jake play football for BCHS. David and I have been foster parents since 2008. One of the all-time best experiences is to help a child.  We have been blessed to be able to give them many new opportunities.  Recently, we have been attending Desert View church.  I love the bible study and just got back from a Women’s Retreat.  I stay busy homeschooling my 9 year old son amongst other “mom” things.

Desert Ridge High School: Karen Becerra

Karen Becerra will be the mother representing Desert Ridge.  Karen is the mother of Jordan Becerra, Quarterback, Receiver, Kick Returner, Defensive Back, and Marisa Becerra, who is a member of our Varsity Cheer Squad.  Both of her children are incredible students, Athletes, and great people.  Karen has served the last two years as the treasurer for our Football Booster Club and is always willing to volunteer at Desert Ridge.  Karen has been a huge help and supporter of Desert Ridge Athletics, and is a valuable member of the Desert Ridge Community

Hamilton High School: Michelle Kemp

Basha High School: Lori Bailey

Basha High School is proud to have Lori Bailey as part of our community.  Lori is the mother of Matt Bailey, a junior on the varsity football team and Brittany Bailey a 2010 Basha graduate who is now a sophomore at ASU.  Lori works tirelessly on behalf of the Football Booster Club and is a member of the Basha Site Council.  As an Intel employee, her volunteer hours are matched by the Intel Foundation at $10 an hour.  Lori enjoys volunteering at Basha to help the football program, but her favorite part is watching her son play!

McClintock: Marianne Levin

“You wouldn’t believe that I have been watching this game for the last 3 years, since my son started playing with the McClintock football teams. I have tried to follow the “first downs,” the “flags,” the Big Carrots on the field, and even which direction the players are supposed to be running. Football is a foreign language to me, or maybe worse, something extraterrestrial. Even so, I support the team members and scream with the cheers at the games. The team spirit, supportive coaches, and committed and conditioned players are awe-inspiring. I try not to miss a game.”

 Marcos de Niza: Jennifer Elvira

Red Mountain: Karen Eulate

Red Mountain Football would like to nominate Karen Eulate. Mrs. Eulate is currently the president of the Red Mountain Football Association which is our parent booster club. Prior to serving this current year as president, Mrs. Eulate served for one year as our secretary. The short of it is that Mrs. Eulate has volunteered a tremendous amount of time and energy over the last two years with no agenda other than to help provide the best for our football student athletes. To begin with, she has led numerous fundraisers including a traditional cookie dough sale, golf tournament and the first annual Mountain Lion Carnival which included a midway of amusement rides similar to what you would see at the state fair. This event alone took months of planning with meetings just about every week. Mrs. Eulate has also worked tirelessly to help promote the core values of our program which include good sportsmanship, hard work and community service. This past spring, RMHS football student athletes participated in our local Relay for Life, and this was due largely to the efforts of Mrs. Eulate. She has also done a wonderful job of serving as an intermediary between our parents and our coaches. As the wife of a long-time coach and as the mother of a senior football player, she completely understands all aspects of the relationships between players, parents and coaches. She has used this knowledge to help create a positive environment in our program. She has even gone so far as to help provide meals for boys in our program whose parents are struggling financially. Mrs. Eulate does all of these things (and many more) expecting nothing in return. Her mission is to help provide our football student athletes with the things that are necessary to make their high school football experience a good one. Ron Wisniewski – Head Football Coach & Math Instructor

Mountain View: Rhonda Frost

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Rhonda Frost for this Award. As the Head Football coach, I have witnessed Rhonda’s leadership, professionalism, and citizenship skills, to which increase parent support and community excitement. Her relationship with our athletes and availability to help our athletes meet their goals are exemplary. Anytime I needed any extra help or service Rhonda has always been there to lend a helping hand. Rhonda is passionate and determined to make Mountain View High School and the Mesa community the best it can be.
Rhonda has represented Mountain View High School with great distinction throughout this year. She has been a great help to me in my first year as the Head Coach here at Mountain View. Rhonda’s leadership is awesome to watch, and it is amazing to me how people respond to her.
Once again, thank you for the opportunity to share some thoughts about a very special person, Rhonda Frost. Chad DeGrenier – Head Football Coach

Westview High School: Stacia Donahue
Stacia Donahue is this years Westview Football “Mom of the Game”.  Stacia is a very busy wife, married to Daryl Donahue for 14 years, who is Westview’s Head JV Coach, and mother of three very active boys, Storme – 14, Stone – 9 and Steele – 7. Stacia is an amazing wife for handling her family life as a “single mom” during football season with husband Daryl as a coach for the past 8 years at Westview and that’s not always so easy when you have three very active boys that are involved in many activities, including football.  It is still a mystery how she does all this “spare time” stuff while working a full-time job as a Special Education Teacher.
Stacia has volunteered for many years at Garden Lakes Elementary School where she teaches and where the boys have attended school and where Daryl teaches also. Stacia has also been a Board Member and President of Pop Warner Far West Football Program, where Stone and Steele are currently playing and now has transitioned her way to become a great parent volunteer for the Westview Football Program as Storme plays his freshman year.
Stacia is one of those ladies that is always asking if she can help, “is there any thing I can do to help” or even just “call me if you need me” and you can.  Westview’s Football Booster Club President stated that she “was so excited to have Stacia as a parent in the program because Stacia can help get things done and will always be there to help”, which is very rare these days.
Stacia gives a whole new meaning to “helping” and “organization” with the many activities her and her family are involved in where teachers, coaches, parents and friends always speak very highly of Stacia and her family and we are truly blessed at Westview to have them as part of our family.

St. Mary’s: Stephanie Wester
Stephanie has been involved with St. Mary’s football for 3 years and this year she is heading up the boosters.  She has a son who is a junior and on the varsity football and track team.  Stephanie takes time away from her job at Chase Bank to ensure that pre-game meals and snacks are always provided for the team.  She routinely visits the grocery store to buy healthy snacks and drinks for the coaches and team. She has initiated this year’s booster merchandise sales and is in charge of the finances of the boosters as well.  Without her continuous support and commitment, our team and school would not be as successful!

Mountain Pointe High School: Maryann Griffin

Maryann and her husband have been active supporters of football dating back to their son’s first days playing youth football with SEV.  Maryann is currently the parent liaison for the MPHS Varsity Football team, but is always the first to volunteer for any additional jobs that are needed to support the football program at MPHS.  She was a key contributor to the Annual MPHS Football Golf Tournament, the annual printed football program, and the annual team banquets.  Maryann exemplifies Pride, Purpose, and Performance in everything she does to support MPHS Football.

Chandler High School: Joellen Baldenegro

I am a Chandler 1981 graduate.  Have four children, all boys. My son on the team is Patrick, the youngest of the four. I work for Banner Health, in the payroll department. I am the treasurer of the booster club and have been involved with them for three years as well as helping with the basketball boosters.

Apollo High School: Merrit Norling

Merrit Norling has been a cornerstone of the Apollo High School community since her son started here in 2006 and this dedication to Apollo has continued as he daughter prepares to graduate this year. Merrit’s contributions to the school are not focused in one area, she has worked with a variety of groups on campus that support student success both in and out of the classroom.  She has been member of the Title 1 Committee, the School Planning Team, and a swim team mom, who works the snack bar.  Additionally, she is a band mom and over the past couple of years she has taken on the role of Vice-President of the Booster Club, Snack Bar Coordinator and Banquet Chairwoman.  Without Merrit’s dedication and support of the Apollo community, Apollo clubs and athletic programs would miss her terribly.

Centennial High School: Shannon Hoffpauir

Mountain Ridge High School: Heather Vasquez

I have been teaching at Mountain View Elementary School for the last 10 years.  I am currently teaching 3rd grade ELD and am working with the RODEL foundation as a mentor teacher for students teachers in title one schools.  My hobbies include golf tournaments and booster meetings  and spending lots of time with family and good friends!

North Canyon High School: Cindy Carriker

Cindy Carriker serves on both the North Canyon Football and Baseball Booster Clubs as an “All Everything” Booster Member.  She will take on any challenge with a smile, and deliver a finish product surpassing everyone’s expectations, every time!  Cindy’s areas of expertise include fundraising, communication, decorations, team representative and hosting of banquets.  In addition to her North Canyon experience, Cindy served on the Board for Little League, was involved with Cal Ripkin and NYS Football and was the 1985 National Baton Twirling Champion! Cindy’s two son’s; Cale – 15 and Kyle- 11, both participate in baseball, football and basketball.

Thunderbird High School: Kristena Malmgren

THS’s football booster club has really given me an opportunity to get to know not only the parents of the team but also the players, which has been an honor.  As an alumni of THS myself, it makes me proud to see my son (Jacob Molina #75) take the field each week.  We are blessed to have been part of such a wonderful program.  I will be getting married 11/11/11 to my high school sweetheart Matt and with that I will be blessed with two step-children, Mason and Brandon.  Matt really helps me behind the scenes and allows our living room, from Aug-Nov, to be used for the team.  Along with being involved with the football team, I am also the Treasurer for the PTA.  In our free time Jacob and I volunteer with Boys Team Charity.  I also run my own accounting firm and I am a cancer survivor and would love to see in my lifetime a cure.

Diana Perez – Coronado High School

“I have 3 children, Jessica @ SCC (a Coronado alumni) EJ a Senior @ Coronado and Alex a Sophomore @ Coronado.  Alex is hoping to be on the basketball team this year and was in Coronado’s marching band last year.
My son EJ is #82 on Coronado’s football team.  I go to all games during the football season and help out selling t-shirts and working at the snack bar.  I also attend EJ’s track meets during the Spring.  I love cheering Coronado on and rooting for my son and his friends on the team.”

Lynn Bradway – Arcadia High School

As a mother of three busy young adults, Lynn is also busy volunteering and participating in their activities.
“Megan, my oldest, is a 3rd year dental student at Baylor, Adriane is a senior accounting major at Southern Methodist University, and Andrew is a senior at Arcadia High School. Working part time as an office administrator, volunteering in the community through Boys Team Charity and volunteering on the football and basketball booster clubs at AHS keeps me on the go. I have coordinated the football Titan card fundraiser for the last three years and have really enjoyed working with the players and coaches. In my free time I enjoy traveling with my husband John, gardening, my book group, my Bible study group and walking with my friends and two dogs.”
